This year, the Dojo Spring Break runs from Saturday, May 2nd to Saturday, May 9th, 2026. Classes resume on Monday, May 11th, 2026.
The dojo's traditional Spring break begins, as usual, during the first week of May.
Spring Break, also known as Golden Week, is one of two traditional planned seasonal breaks (the other is Gasshuku; read more here and about last year's Gasshuku here).

Read more about Golden Week.
The Spring Break holiday prepares the dojo for the all-important Blackbelt Testing Selection and Blackbelt testing periods (read more about past year's Selection here) that begin immediately after Spring Break. You can also learn more about the history of Golden Week here.
For 2026, Golden Week+Spring Break begins on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, and continues to Saturday, May 9th, 2026.
No classes will be held, and the dojo will be closed for all events during that time. In addition, no Livestream classes will be held.
Regular classes resume on Monday, May 11th, 2026.
As a helpful reminder, you can get up-to-date schedule changes on Today@Goju in the Class Schedule section. And a full calendar of events is also available in the Dojo Calendar section here.
