Gasshuku is the dojo's summer break and generally occurs in August of every year.
Gasshuku is the traditional Summer holiday observed by dojo throughout the world. It serves as a time for the entire dojo to prepare for what is usually the busiest time of year: Autumn and Winter.
For Goju Karate, Gasshuku 2022 begins on Wednesday, August 17th, 2022, and continues to Wednesday, August 24th, 2022. No classes will be held, and the dojo will be closed for all events during that time.
Regular classes resume on Friday, August 26th, 2022.
No Special Training Camps in 2022
There will be no training camps or seminars held during Gasshuku this year. The reasons for this are two-fold: the Honbu project requires extra time and attention from Sensei and seniors this year, and the dojo is planning a special Gasshuku in 2023, to be held at Honbu. More details on that event will be available early next year.
