This year, the Dojo Spring Break runs from Friday, May 2nd to Friday, May 9th, 2025. Classes resume on Saturday, May 10th, 2025.
The dojo's traditional Spring break begins this week, the first week of May.
Spring Break, also known as Golden Week, is one of two traditional planned seasonal breaks (the other is Gasshuku; read more here and here).
The Spring Break holiday prepares the dojo for the all-important Blackbelt Testing Selection and Blackbelt testing periods (read more here) that begin immediately after Spring Break. You can also learn more about the history of Golden Week here.
For 2025, Spring Break begins on Friday, May 2nd, 2025, and continues to Friday, May 9th, 2025.
No classes will be held, and the dojo will be closed for all events during that time. In addition, no Livestream classes will be held.
Regular classes resume on Saturday, May 10th, 2025.
